Hampshire and Dorset firefighters tackle New Milton dustbin lorry fire

HIWFRS firefighters from New Milton, and one crew from DWFRS, were called to a dustbin lorry alight on Southern Lane at 10:23 this morning.

The vehicle was severely damaged in the fire which was extinguished using one hose reel and one jet. Environment Agency pads were used to prevent contaminated water run-off entering the drains.

The Highways Agency were required to attend due to road damage, before crews left the scene at 12:29.
