Firefighters tackling Blackwater wildfire

This morning, firefighters from Rushmoor returned to Blackwater to carry out a reinspection of the site to check for any remaining hotspots. Fire Service presence is likely to continue throughout the day to ensure no hotspots reignite.
*UPDATE 20:00 (11 APR)*
The fire is now out. Crews are currently damping down and will return to their stations shortly. A reinspection is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

There are currently around 30 firefighters working to extinguish the Blackwater fire, but we are hoping to scale the incident down shortly so that only a few vehicles remain.

Firefighters are currently tackling a large heathland fire in Blackwater, Camberley.
The first call alerting us to the blaze came into the HIWFRS Control Room shortly after 2pm, with the team taking around 30 calls reporting the fire which is close to the A30.
Crews from Yateley, Rushmoor, Basingstoke, Fleet and Surrey FRS are currently on the scene using hose reels and wildfire units to stop the blaze which is two hectares in size.
