Crews tackle fire in the open in Calshot

Crews left the scene overnight and firefighters from Hardley returned this morning and carried out a reinspection of the site to check for any hotspots. The Stop message came in at 09:47

The fire is now out and we will shortly be scaling down our presence at the incident to one crew.
It is estimated that the fire affected an area of 600m x 200m

Crews from Hardley, Hythe, Beaulieu, Eastleigh and Ringwood are currently in attendance at a fire in a field in Calshot.
Multiple calls have come into the control room to report the fire, with the initial call coming in at just before 7pm.
Firefighters are using a main jet and two hose reels to tackle the fire which is estimated to be affecting an area of around 400m x 80m.
People in the area are advised to close doors and windows due to smoke.
