Firefighters tackled a flat fire in Southampton on Sunday evening
Crews from St Mary’s, Botley, Hamble and Hightown were alerted to the blaze on Ellwood Avenue shortly before 8pm.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus worked to stop the fire using jets and hose reels, before ventilating the property to clear smoke.
The flat was left uninhabitable, so Southampton City Council were informed to rehouse the occupant.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service delivered community safety materials to nearby addresses before returning to station shortly after 9pm.
