Firefighters tackle garage blaze

Fire crews worked through the night to stop a fire in a garage from spreading further.

Crews from Yateley, Hartley Wintney, Rushmoor, Fleet and Eastleigh, were joined by the Incident Command Unit and colleagues from Berkshire at Mayflower Drive, Yateley.

They were called at 20:05 on Saturday (11 September) and used 10 breathing apparatus, two jets and three hose reels to tackle the blaze.

The garage was 100 per cent affected by fire and there was some smoke damage to the house.

The incident began scaling down at midnight and the stop message was received at 01:56.

Crews re-inspected the property at 07:00 on Sunday (12 September) and found no hot spots, with no further action required.
