Firefighters Rescue Pets and Ensure Safety of Residents After Fleet Flat Fire
Crews from Fleet and Rushmoor were alerted to an incident in Church Crookham at 11:30 AM this morning. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke billowing from the flats.
Two residents, a male and a female, received immediate medical treatment from firefighters before being transported to the hospital by SECAM. A dog and two cats were saved from the apartment block and received oxygen from a HIWFRS animal rescue advisor at the scene. They were later taken to a local vet by their owners.
Firefighters utilised hose reel jets to combat the flames, and ventilation fans were deployed to clear the smoke. A 105-foot ladder was set up to access adjacent flats, ensuring the safety of all residents.
As a result of the incident, ten occupants now require re-housing. The stop message was received at 2 PM, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
