Firefighters from across Hampshire and Wiltshire tackle property blaze overnight in Kimpton
Around 60 firefighters from across Hampshire and DWFRS were called to a two-storey property on Down Road in Kimpton at around 8pm yesterday after a caller reported the house was on fire.
Upon arrival firefighters found smoke issuing from the roof which was well alight, and more crews were mobilised.
Crews from Andover, Fordingbridge, Whitchurch, Winchester, Stockbridge and DWFRS tackled the fire with specialist foam before damping down using jets and hose reels.
The electrics were isolated but due to the unstable structure of the building there was no internal firefighting conducted.
Ambulance were on the scene to treat several casualties including a number of children.
Relief crews from Basingstoke, Hightown, St Mary’s, Sutton Scotney, Droxford, Rushmoor and Odiham were on the scene overnight, taking over from the crews first to arrive.
Specialist vehicles from Romsey, Eastleigh and Fleet were also involved.
Fire Investigation officers attended the scene alongside police colleagues to ascertain the cause.
The stop message came in shortly before 6am.
One crew will return to the scene this morning to complete a reinspection and to conduct community fire safety visits.
