Firefighters called out to Hamble Marina boat blaze

Crews from Hamble and Hightown were deployed to the Hamble-Le-Rice shoreline at 6:31 yesterday evening (16 August) to a small oven fire onboard a yacht berthed in Hamble Marina.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet, one main jet and two sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.

The two owners onboard escaped the vessel unharmed and were given boat safety advice by attending crews.

HIWFRS left the scene following the stop message at 19:06.
