Firefighters assist after burst water main causes flooding
Firefighters checked on vulnerable residents, cleared drains with hand tools, and pumped away water after a burst pipe caused flooding in Hedge End.
Crews from Hightown, Botley and Eastleigh were called to Maunsell Way and Cheltenham Gardens at 08:07 on Sunday (21 November).
A number of homes were flooded and partners from Southern Water, the Environment Agency, Hampshire County Council, Southern Electricity and Network Rail, were also on scene.
Our crews were clear from the scene by 11:00, once the incident had been handed over to Southern Water and the county council’s emergency planning team.
