Fire in derelict building on Privett Road, Gosport

A crew from Gosport returned to the scene this morning to conduct a further inspection of the property. No hotspots were identified.
Due to the extent of the structural damage sustained by the building, it has not been possible to determine the cause of the fire at this time.
*Update 11/06 07:30*
A stop message was received at around 04:30 this morning. Crews have been back to the site throughout the night for re-inspections and extinguished signs of hot spots and embers. Further inspections will continue through the morning.

The fire has now been extinguished, and firefighters remain on scene damping down the area. The roof of the building collapsed, but fortunately no-one was injured. Crews will carry out re-inspections throughout the night.

Initial Incident Information:
Crews from Gosport and Portchester, alongside an Aerial Ladder Platform, are at the scene of a fire in a derelict building on Privett Road, Gosport.
The initial call came in at 20:00 this evening.
There is lots of smoke so people are urged to drive carefully on local roads as visibility may be affected. Residents living in the area are advised to close their doors and windows.
