River Itchen, nr Whitworth Crescent, Southampton, United Kingdom
A house boat residing on the River Itchen in Southampton has been destroyed by a fire.
Control firefighters were alerted at 21:16, and sent crews from St Mary’s and Hightown to extinguish the fire and protect the surrounding area.
The occupants were evacuated safely and were seen to by an ambulance crew for smoke inhalation. Luckily no one was injured.
Crews will be attending in the morning for reinspection.
