Early morning care home fire dealt with by HIWFRS firefighters

Firefighters had an early morning callout to a fire at a care home in Sarisbury Green.

Hightown, Fareham, St Mary’s and Portchester crews were mobilised to Brook Lane by the HIWFRS Control Room at 1:31.

The blaze which had broken out in the care home’s conservatory was quickly extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and tactical ventilation to clear smoke.

The location of the fire was a considerable distance from the residents and there were no casualties involved.

The stop message came in at 2:09 after crews had conducted post incident community fire safety activities with residents.
