Early morning bungalow blaze tackled by New Forest and Southampton crews
On-call firefighters from across the New Forest were called to a blaze within a derelict bungalow in Holbury in the early hours of this morning.
The HIWFRS Control Room alerted crews from Hardley, Hythe and Beaulieu as well as firefighters from Redbridge, shortly after 2am.
The property in Ipers Bridge was well alight upon arrival, before firefighters removed two propane cylinders from inside the building.
Hose reels and jets were used to bring the blaze under control and to dampen down the scene.
A relief crew from St Mary’s took over from the firefighters who were first on the scene.
The bungalow was destroyed in the fire which was tackled externally due to the roof collapsing.
The stop message came in at 08:15 this morning before one crew returned to check for remaining hotspots.
