Crews tackle early morning kitchen fire

Firefighters from Basingstoke, Alton, Alresford, Hartley Wintney, Tadley and Bordon were called to a gliding club in Lasham at 05:20 today (Wednesday 29 September).

A caller dialled 999 after seeing smoke and flames coming from the clubhouse and crews wore breathing apparatus and used water jets to put out a fire in the kitchen. A ventilation fan was used to clear smoke.

The incident was scaled down at 06:44 and the stop message was received at 07:12.
