Crews rush to high-rise incident in Southampton

At approx. 10:45am this morning crews from Redbridge, St Mary’s, Hightown, Eastleigh, Winchester and Fareham were called to deal with a small kitchen fire (hob fire) in a flat in a high rise building in Duke Street, Southampton.

Eight fire pumps attended the scene in total. Two sets of breathing apparatus and ventilation fans were used to clear the smoke from the kitchen hob fire which was out on arrival. There were no injuries reported and the stop message came in at 11:20am.
