Crews deal with Storm Claudio call-outs
Firefighters from Newport used the aerial ladder to remove a sign and secure large boards above a shop at Towngate retail park. The call was received at just after 08:00 and the crew took action as there was a risk that the items would fall onto the pavement below.
Later that morning, a crew from Shanklin went to Pound Lane, Ventnor, to remove roof tiles that had come loose and posed a risk to the public.
At 09:42, a Southsea crew were called to remove several tiles from a roof in Clive Road, Portsmouth, after an officer assessed that there was a risk of falling.
Later that afternoon, Southsea firefighters were sent to Beck Street, in Portsmouth, to remove loose tiles and slates from a rooftop using the aerial ladder platform. The stop message was received at 13:25
At 13:58 Southsea firefighters were mobilised again, this time to Winter Road, to remove a large Christmas decoration using the aerial ladder platform. The festive decoration had come loose from a lamppost and was hanging over the pavement and road. The scene was made safe and the stop message was received at 14:50.
