Cowes bungalow blaze sees one casualty taken to hospital for smoke inhalation
Newport, Ryde and Shanklin firefighters were called at 15:10 this afternoon to a bungalow fire on Newport Road in Cowes.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the occupant who was then treated for smoke inhalation and taken onto hospital by IOWAS paramedics.
Crews tackled the kitchen blaze with hose reels, jets and the aerial ladder before using ventilation fans for smoke clearance.
Gas and electrics were isolated prior to the stop message at 16:12.
