Closed door limits fire spread following Farnborough washing machine blaze

Firefighters were called to a fire involving a remote-control car on top of a washing machine.

Upon exiting the property, the homeowner was able to close the door, limiting the fire spread and damage to the room of the fire.

Crews from Rushmoor arrived on scene at around 14:30 yesterday afternoon (4 Jan) to tackle the fire at the Harbour Close property in Farnborough.

The fire was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and ventilation fans to clear smoke.

HIWFRS returned to station following the stop message at 15:20.
