Bursledon property fire tackled by Southampton crews

Southampton firefighters tackled a fire at a property on Portsmouth Road in Bursledon this afternoon.

Crews from Hightown, St Mary’s, Fareham and Eastleigh were alerted at around three o’clock.

There were no casualties reported in the blaze which involved the property’s ground-floor extension.

Police officers were on the scene to close the road, whilst engineers isolated the electrical supply to the property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jets before leaving the scene at around a quarter past five, as road restrictions were lifted.
