Bon the horse rescued by animal rescue firefighters
Crews were called out to rescue Bon the shire horse who was unable to get back onto his feet due to the boggy ground.
On-call firefighters from Ringwood along with specialists animal rescue vehicles and officers from Winchester and Overton were on the scene shortly after 5pm yesterday evening.
Joined by a local vet who was able to sedate the 18-hands high horse before firefighters made use of their animal rescue equipment to lift the animal.
Bon was successfully back on four legs and more solid ground near Moorhill Road in Burley, before HIWFRS made up their equipment and returned to station at around 19:30 last night.
