Body found at scene of Burley house fire

Our crews were called to a serious house fire in Esdaile Lane, Burley, at 03:25 on 16 July.

Sadly, Police have confirmed that a body was found within the address.

Multiple fire engines were in attendance throughout the morning, with firefighters damping down and carrying out community safety activity at neighbouring properties.

The stop message was received at 14:28 but crews stayed to monitor hotspots and assist police colleagues for a number of hours.

The cause of the fire will now be investigated.
