Blaze involving tumble dryer breaks out in Southampton city centre commercial building
Southampton firefighters were alerted to a blaze on Commercial Road in the city centre at around half ten this morning.
Crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hightown, Totton and Eastleigh arrived to find smoke and flames issuing from the commercial building.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire before clearing smoke from the building with ventilation fans.
One casualty was treated for injuries.
Crews left the scene at around midday with Fire Investigation Officers remaining in attendance.
