A tractor and area of grass stubble destroyed in blaze near Winchester

Winchester and Andover crews were called at around 3pm on Monday afternoon to the incident off of Stockbridge Road in Crawley.

Firefighters were supported with a water carrier vehicle from Eastleigh.

A tractor and bailer unit were destroyed in the blaze which spread to the nearby grass stubble area, with approximately 1000 square metres affected.

Hose reel jets and specialist foam was used to extinguish the fire and dampen down the scene.

The stop message came in shortly after 5pm.
