Southampton shed fire produces large smoke plume over the city skyline
The HIWFRS Control Room received numerous calls at around midday reporting a fire in the Freemantle area of Southampton.
Crews from St Mary’s, Eastleigh and Cosham were mobilised at 12:03 to the blaze which broke out in a shed on Waterloo Road.
All persons were soon accounted for with no casualties reported.
Firefighters contained the blaze to the shed, protecting the two-storey building attached, which only suffered smoke damage.
The fire was stopped using jets and hose reels before crews left the scene at 12:58.
