Every year crews from Cosham Fire Station put on a festive party for children who have been receiving treatment at the Queen Alexandra Hospital.
This year, the day started with a show from children entertainer Magic Nikki who had the audience enthralled with her amazing magic acts and comedy performance.
During the party the crew at Cosham and the children were called to an emergency – Father Christmas was stuck up the top of the drill tower. Firefighters used the aerial platform ladder to rescue him and bring him back down to the ground safely.
Now safe and sound, Father Christmas called for his trusty reindeers to guide his magical red sleigh, complete with blue light, into the fire station so he could spend some time with the children.
Each child got to have a personal visit with Father Christmas and his elves in a speculator winter wonderland grotto.
Cosham Fire station raises funds throughout the year so that they can buy each child a special present from Santa which is unique them.
The children who attended were invited as a celebration of their bravery and courage with many of them having sadly spent the majority of the year in and out of hospital.
