Multiple crews tackle farm blaze

Firefighters were called to a fire at a farm in Pylands Lane, Bursledon, last night.

Crews from Hightown, St Mary’s, Hamble and Totton attended, along with specialist vehicles and water carriers from Eastleigh, Southsea, Portchester and Fareham.

The call was received shortly before 2100 and the fire involved two corrugated buildings, joined together, and used as a warehouse.

On arrival, firefighters could see flames coming from the top of the buildings and crews worked hard to tackle the blaze.

No one was injured and horses at a nearby yard were moved away from the fire by their owner.

The stop message came in at midnight, with one crew returning later in the morning to conduct a reinspection and check for further hotspots.

Fire investigators are due to return this morning.
