Caravan, workshop and cars destroyed in overnight Micheldever blaze

A fire involving several caravans was first reported into the HIWFRS Control Room shortly after 3am.

There were around 40 firefighters which responded to the scene on Basingstoke Road in Micheldever, coming from Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover.

Fortunately everyone was safely out of the caravans and vehicles involved.

Due to a limited water supply in the area additional water carrier vehicles were called to attend from Andover and Eastleigh.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the flames which were extinguished by 5am, when crews began to dampen down.

A static caravan, small workshop and two nearby cars were all destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters began to leave the scene following the stop message at half six this morning.​
