The countdown has started!
You have just a few days left to have your say on Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service’s five-year vision.
The consultation on the Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) will end on Sunday, November 24, at 11.59pm.
This plan will be shaped by the views and opinions of the public as well as laying out the areas it will focus on for the next five years.
The fire and rescue landscape has changed significantly in recent years and the role of the modern firefighter is also evolving and HFRS is looking at new ways of working to make the people of Hampshire even safer.
Chief Fire Officer Neil Odin said:
“We value the views of people from all of our communities and would urge as many as possible to take part in this important consultation.
“I am extremely proud of our service, which I believe is among the best in the country, and of our hardworking, dedicated teams.
“Only the public can say whether we are focusing on the things that matter to them and this is their chance to shape and influence our plans going forward.”
HFRS exists to make life safer and this forms the basis of everything it does and its planning.
This plan will focus on risks in the county, people and how to best serve the needs of the individual.
The service also considers broader issues such as how population changes and climate will affect communities and the work it does.
It analyses this information to work out what is needed and assess the best way of using resources.
The plan considers individual risk factors, levels of vulnerability, buildings, local intelligence, partnership working, industry-leading research and the desire to continuously learn and improve.
This consultation gives the public the chance to influence the future of the fire and rescue service as it strives every day to make life safer.
