Under the Fire Safety Regulations (England) 2022 , legislation was introduced that required Responsible Persons (RPs) to provide residents with information on emergency procedures and the importance of fire doors.
The introduction of Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022 from 1 October 2023, ensures that you as a resident are now entitled to receive more information from RPs.
In residential buildings with two or more domestic premises residents must be provided with information on the risks from fire and the fire safety measures in place to keep them safe. RPs now have a legal duty to provide you with this information. It’s vital for residents to have this information so they can be better prepared in the event of a fire.
