Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house fire in Bondfields Crescent at 06:12 this morning (February 22).
Crews from Havant, Cosham, Portchester and Emsworth attended the incident which began in the lounge of the two-storey property.
Smoke was issuing from the house and an alarm was sounding when firefighters arrived.
The man was brought out of the property by fire crews before being pronounced dead at the scene.
Three people were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service.
The firefighters used 10 sets of breathing apparatus, one jet and two hose reels to extinguish the fire which spread to the roof. The stop message was received at 08:51.
A fire investigation will now take place to establish the cause.
