The fire involved a large area of trees and scrubland covering an area of six hectares.

HFRS have been working alongside border colleagues Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to tackle the blaze.

At the peak there were 110 firefighters in attendance at the scene.

Specialist vehicles and appliances from Ringwood, Lyndhurst, Fordingbridge, Burley and Totton fire stations were used.

A relief strategy was put in place at 22:00 on Tuesday 11 August, with three appliances and a land rover remaining overnight.

The stop message for the fire came in at 10:53 on Thursday 13 August.

Crews from across both Hampshire and Dorset and Wiltshire extinguished and dampened down the six hectares of gorse and woodland using jets and hose reels.

Firefighters have since left the scene having handed the incident over to the Forestry Commission.
