Two men rescued from mud after vessel overturns

Firefighters worked with coastguard, police and ambulance partners at an incident off of Whale Island Way in Portsmouth this afternoon.
Crews from Southsea and Cosham, along with the water rescue team at Fareham, were called at around four o’clock following reports of two men stuck in mud after their vessel overturned.
Wading equipment and rescue sleds were deployed to reach and bring the men back to shore who were then passed to paramedics for assessment.
If you’re planning on going fishing or taking the paddleboard out this weekend, make sure you know the tide times and how to stay safe around mud.
