Two little ducks went out one day…

Two young ducklings were rescued after falling down a drain on the motorway.
A crew from Cosham quack-ly made their way to the scene shortly after 11 o’clock this morning.

The westbound carriageway of the M27 between junctions nine and ten, was briefly closed whilst firefighters accessed the drain on the central reservation.
The ducklings were lifted safely from the drain and passed into the care of an RSPCA officer, who reunited the pair with their mother on the hard shoulder.
Having done a wing-credible job, the crew left the scene and returned to station at around midday.

Crew Manager Curtis Miles, Cosham Fire Station, said:
“As a firefighter you really do never know what the next call out will involve – and this certainly will be a memorable one.
“It was a real team effort, and as always it was great to work alongside RSPCA and Highways teams.
“It was brilliant that we were able to play our part in achieving a successful outcome, reuniting the two ducklings with their mother.”
