Roger the dog and firefighters team up to rescue man who fell in car
An elderly man who fell in his car was rescued by firefighters and Roger the dog.
Fortunately, the door of the garage, which the vehicle was parked in, was open and the next-door neighbour’s dog, Roger, came to the rescue, finding the casualty the next day before alerting his owner.
An on-call crew from Ringwood were alerted to the incident on Avon Park in St Leonards and St Ives at 15:30 on Wednesday 7th December after a call into the HIWFRS Control Room.
Trapped beneath the vehicle’s steering wheel, the man was released by firefighters who provided immediate emergency care before he was passed into the care of paramedics.
HIWFRS left the scene and returned to station at 16:13.
