New Forest and Southampton crews tackle overnight barn blaze in Marchwood
Crews from across the New Forest and Southampton tackled a barn fire in Marchwood overnight.
Firefighters from Redbridge, St Mary’s, Hardley, Beaulieu and Hythe were called to the blaze on Beaulieu Road at 00:14.
Throughout the night, crews used jets and ventilation fans to control the barn blaze whilst preventing the adjacent barns becoming involved.
Relief crews attended later in the morning to take over from the firefighters who were first on the scene.
The barn was destroyed in the fire which also saw hay bales and an agricultural vehicle significantly damaged.
Fire Investigation Officers are on the scene to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
The stop message came in at 08:45 with one crew remaining on the scene to dampen down, with a reinspection set to take place later on today.
