More than 35 firefighters tackle Fareham field fire
Hampshire crews were called to a fire involved two-hectares of grassland at a school on St Margaret’s Lane in Fareham.
Firefighters were alerted at 13:55 yesterday afternoon.
Crews brought two horses to safety away from the fire.
The blaze which spread across two fields was quickly surrounded, before the incident was scaled down as remaining firefighters dampened down.
The fire was extinguished using hose reels, beaters and jets before the stop message came in at 16:40.
One crew returned later in the evening, and again this morning, to conduct reinspections checking for any remaining hotspots.
