Disused former school building fire extinguished by crews

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to smoke coming from a disused former school building in Gosport yesterday evening (18th June) at 5:53pm.

Crews from Gosport, Fareham, and Portchester, and relief crews from Wickham, Hightown and Havant attended the incident. They extinguished the fire on the first floor of the 2 storey building.

They used 17 breathing apparatus, an aerial ladder platform and 2 main jets.

Crews attended for re-inspection over night and in the morning.
