Crews from Newport and Ryde were called at 13:53 to a rescue from height in Belgrave Road, Ventnor.
Two people required assistance getting down from a cherry picker, due to a possible mechanical failure.
The two occupants were safely transferred from the cherry picker to the cage of the aerial ladder platform and returned to ground level.
The road was closed during the incident but has since reopened.
