Firefighters rescue man from Aldershot cooking blaze

Crews from Hampshire and Surrey were called late last night to a kitchen fire on the High Street in Aldershot.

Fire engines from Rushmoor, Fleet and across the border in Surrey arrived to find a fire caused by a large saucepan full of oil cooking on a hob.

Firefighters rescued the male occupant who was suffering from smoke inhalation, before providing him with immediate emergency care.

The casualty was passed into the care of paramedics as firefighters cleared smoke from the building.

The stop message came in at 23:10.
