Firefighters extinguish dairy farm dung heap fire before milking time
On-call crews tackled a fire involving five tonnes of dung at a local dairy farm in Droxford yesterday!
Wickham firefighters were called shortly after 4pm to the fire nearby to a straw barn, so along with the assistance of Eastleigh’s water carrier, the crew worked to stop the blaze from spreading.
The dung heap continued to smoulder overnight and firefighters from Droxford returned in the early hours to dampen down the hotspots, arriving just in time for milking time!
