Crews tackle fire at property in Romsey

Incident update at 11:10 am 1 February:

Crews from Eastleigh, Romsey, St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hythe and Beaulieu are tackling a fire in Fairview Road, Romsey.

The fire involves a garage and the first floor and roof of a house.

There are multiple fire engines and other specialist vehicles on site including an aerial ladder platform. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using jets and hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

The initial call came in just after 9.30 am this morning.

Update 11:38 am: The fire was out by 11:30 am with crews remaining on site to dampen down. No reported injuries. The entire garage and outhouse was destroyed by the fire. The roof and first floor of the house also suffered significant damage in the blaze.
