Crews from Cosham and Southsea respond to Farmside Gardens incident in Portsmouth

Cosham and Southsea crews were called to a property on Farmside Gardens yesterday evening after a call reported an alarm sounding and a fire, before a further call reported a casualty having jumped from a first-floor window.

The casualty suffered minor burns and a fractured ankle, and was treated by HIWFRS and SCAS paramedics.

The flat fire involving bedroom furniture and clothing was stopped by firefighters in breathing apparatus using jets and hose reels.

Crews conducted Safe and Well visits before returning to station at around 5pm.

A joint police and fire investigation will now take place.
