Control room operators take around 90 calls to tree blaze beside M27
Two Cosham crews were called to tackle a blaze involving trees near to the Portsbridge roundabout.
The HIWFRS Control Room received around 90 calls to the fire affecting multiple trees beside the M27 at rush hour yesterday afternoon.
Cosham firefighters were first called at 16:18, with a second fire engine mobilised shortly afterwards due to the number of calls being received.
A 20m-by-20m area of undergrowth and trees were well alight, and extinguished using hose reels.
Crews returned to station following the stop message at 16:52.
