Beaters used to tackle Havant Thicket grassland fire
Three fire engines and a Land Rover were called to a grassland fire at Havant Thicket in Rowlands Castle last night (Monday 25 April).
Firefighters from Horndean, Emsworth and Havant accessed the site from Swanmore Road shortly after 20:25 to tackle a large fire measuring approximately 40 metres square, using beaters and a hose reel jet.
The fire was out by 21:20 and crews remained on scene to dampen down before the stop message was received at 22:11.
