A cow shoulder-deep in mud was rescued by firefighters this weekend

An on-call crew from Liphook was joined at the scene in Bordon by Overton and Winchester animal rescue teams at around half three on Saturday afternoon.

Specialist rescue equipment including strops was used to pull and lift the young Hereford cross cow to safety.

The animal was handed back to her owner before firefighters returned to station shortly after five o’clock.
