Firefighters at Winchester Fire Station are opening their doors this September for a jam-packed day of fun and fire safety. The community open day will take place on Saturday 18 September and provide local residents with the chance to visit their fire station to gain insight into the various activities firefighters undertake.
The festivities will take place between 10:00-16:00. There will be entertainment for children as well as fire and rescue demonstrations, showcasing the latest equipment used by firefighters to help keep Winchester and the surrounding area safe. They will be joined by colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Constabulary and Citizens Advice.
And if that wasn’t enough you can meet our fire investigation dogs (possibly the most loved members of staff) who are specially trained to identify substances that can start fires.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service open days are fun for all the family but also provide an opportunity to learn more about a host of safety matters from home to road safety.
Your local crew looks forward to seeing you there!
