This weekend, Cosham Fire Station proudly hosted its 18th annual Christmas party for children who have been receiving treatment at Queen Alexandra Hospital, continuing a long-standing festive tradition.

The day began with a performance by children’s entertainer Magic Nikki, who captivated the audience with her amazing magic acts and comedy, bringing laughter and excitement to children and families alike.

The event then included a dramatic and much-anticipated moment when firefighters and children were called to an “emergency” because Father Christmas had become stuck at the top of the station’s drill tower. For the 19th year running, crews carried out the festive rescue, using the aerial platform ladder to safely bring Father Christmas back down to the ground.

Once safely rescued, Father Christmas called for his trusty reindeer to guide his magical red sleigh, complete with blue lights, into the fire station so he could spend time with the children and their families. Each child enjoyed a personal visit with Father Christmas and his elves in a spectacular winter wonderland grotto.

Throughout the year, Cosham Fire Station raises funds to ensure every child receives a special present from Santa, carefully chosen to suit each individual child.

The children who attended were invited in celebration of their bravery and courage, with many having spent much of the year in and out of hospital. The event provided a joyful and memorable experience for the children and their families during the festive season.

Cosham Fire Station is delighted to continue this 19-year tradition, bringing smiles, laughter, and festive magic to children from Queen Alexandra Hospital.
