Earlier this year, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service asked public, partners, community groups and staff to give their views on risks in our communities, from wildfires, residential fires and road traffic collisions to flooding, animal rescues and medical emergencies.
The outcomes and data analysis were shared with the Fire Authority in October and have been collated into a report that identifies all the foreseeable fire and rescue related risks in our communities. The report does not look at activity currently undertaken by Blue Light Services to address the risk.
Over the next 12 months we will be looking at what we can do to address these identified risks – what we must do (statutory), what we currently do, what we should do (it’s the right thing), and what else we could do. This will include further consultation. This work will contribute to the production of our next Safety Plan covering 2025-30.
