Flat fire tackled in Southampton

At around 7pm this evening, firefighters were called to a kitchen fire on the sixth floor of a high rise in Centenary Quay, Southampton. Crews from Eastleigh, Fareham, Hightown, Redbridge, St Mary’s and Totton were in on scene to tackle the fire, which is thought to be electrical.

Residents were evacuated from a number of floors, and the fire was swiftly extinguished before a full evacuation was required. The stop message was issued at 9pm.
