Multiple crews tackled a fire in a derelict commercial property in Andover

Multiple crews tackled a fire in a derelict commercial property in Greenwich Way, Andover yesterday afternoon and into the early hours of this morning. The initial call came in at around 3.45pm.

At the height of the incident there were around 40 firefighters on scene, with seven fire engines, two Aerial Ladder Platforms plus support vehicles.

Firefighters used two main jets to extinguish the fire which affected the roof space at the rear of the property. Crews left the scene and went back to station at around 1.30am. A crew returned to the scene at 7am to carry out a reinspection to check for any hotspots.

No one was injured and an investigation will be carried out into the cause.
